The Penguins made a deal on Saturday night with the Blackhawks, sending D Olli Maatta to Chicago for forward Dominik Kahun and a 5th round pick in this year’s draft. In his rookie season, Kahun recorded 37 points with 13 goals and 24 assists in a top nine role. Maatta will be missed, but a glut of blue-liners for Pittsburgh made this trade possible. It also gives the Penguins some salary cap relief going into Free Agency on July 1. Maatta was a solid contributor, and, along with his play, will fondly be remembered for his antics during the Penguins Stanley Cup Parades.
