Penguins Trade Kessel

Today is the beginning of free agency in the NHL, but the Penguins made their big splash on Saturday, sending Forward Phil Kessel to Arizona along with Dane Birks and a fourth-round pick, in exchange for Forward Alex Galchenyuk and Defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph. The 25 year old Galchenyuk has 296 points in 490 career games with the Montreal Canadiens and Arizona Coyotes. Joseph has yet to play in the NHL, but he comes with pedigree having been selected by the Coyotes 23rd overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Even though Kessel’s even strength play suffered last season, he still scored 82 points in 82 games played. No matter which team he plays for now, Phil Kessel was an integral part of the team in the four years he was in Pittsburgh and will always be a two-time Stanley Cup Champion. What do you think of the trade?
