I still watch reruns on Seinfeld whenever I catch them on TV, but it got me to thinking: is it even possible for people just a few years younger than I am to relate to the show? Because 75-80% of the plots for the show could easily be solved by a smart phone. The parking garage episode comes to mind. The gang couldn’t find each other all day because they were separated in the mall parking garage. That was a problem before everyone had a phone in their pocket. Now, if I lose my wife at the grocery store I can call her from two aisles away. “Oh, you’re in the cereal aisle? I’ll see you in fifteen seconds.” It kind of makes me said, in retrospect, because if the gang on Seinfeld had cell phones, Elaine’s fish would have lived.
