2018 NHL Draft

If you’re going to watch the NHL Draft tonight, you’ll be waiting quite a while for the Penguins to make their first selection. The Pens made their first round selection in mid-February when they traded the pick (22nd Overall) for Derick Brassard. Instead their top draft pick this year will come in the second round at number 53. Through the entirety of the draft, the Pens own five picks: one in the second round, one in the third, two in the fifth, and then one each in the sixth and seventh rounds. That’s not to say the Penguins will actually make those picks, since we never know what’s up GM Jim Rutherford’s sleeve. We’re already looking forward to the Pens return to Rocky 96.5!
