The Penguins defeated the New York Islanders last night by a 6-2 score, their first win against the Isles this season. One alarming trend for the Pens is their propensity for giving up short-handed goals. Through just over a quarter of the season thus far, the Penguins have given up 8 goals while their opponent was down a man. Juxtapose that stat with last season when they only surrendered 3 such goals over 82 games, and you’ll see that its imperative for Mike Sullivan and his staff needs to address that going forward. Pittsburgh will be in Ottawa Saturday night looking for revenge for a 6-4 loss to the Senators Nov. 17 at PPG Paints Arena. Listen to all the action on Rocky 96.5!
