For the third time this season, the Penguins and the Capitals will meet at the rink in a Metropolitan Division showdown. In their first meeting this year, the Penguins got the better of the defending Stanley Cup Champions in an overtime tilt that ended 7-6. When the two met again in early November it was the Capitals that came out on top 2-1. Alex Ovechkin has been on an incredible goal-scoring pace this year, finding the back of the net 29 times over 32 games. It’ll be up to Matt Murray to defend his cage this evening and keep the Penguins on the move in the Metropolitan Division standings. Patric Hornqvist was ruled a “very probably” game-time decision for Mike Sullivan’s squad after missing the last six games with an upper-body injury. It’s Penguins and Capitals tonight in DC on Rocky 96.5!
