Penguins 5 Panthers 1

The Penguins declawed the Panthers last night at PPG Paints Arena 5-1, although the Panthers certainly got their pound of flesh out of the Pens. Patric Hornqvist left the game after he was hit in the face with a puck in the first period. Mike Sullivan didn’t have an injury update on Hornqvist after the game. And after Zac Aston-Reese got into a fight in the third, he left the ice once he was released from the penalty box, not to return. Today he was placed on IR, which means he’s out for at least a week. Because of ZAR’s injury, winger Garrett Wilson was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The win keeps the Penguins two point back of the Metropolitan Division leading Washington Capitals who also won last night. The Pens are now off until Friday when they take on the Anaheim Ducks in the first game of their West Coast swing. Listen to all the action on Rocky 96.5!
