San Jose won their seventh in a row last nigh, after they defeated the Penguins 5-2, the second game in a row the Pens have lost by that score. Kris Letang put the Pens up 1-0 in the first with a majestic coast-to-coast backhand goal, but the Sharks took a bite out of the Pens afterwards, led by Tomas Hertel’s hat trick. The Penguins, 1-2 on their current West Coast road trip, missed a chance to gain some ground in the Metropolitan Division that is now led by……the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets beat the Devils last night, the Capitals got blown out by the Predators, and now they’re tied atop the Met with 59 points. The Pens who were in second place in the Division earlier this week, are now the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. Although they’re tied at 56 points, the Islanders now hold the third seed in the division. Luckily, there are still thirty plus games left in the season. Friday night, listen as the Penguins continue their road trip against the Arizona Coyotes on Rocky 96.5.
