NHL Trade Deadline

The NHL Trade Deadline was today and Penguin’s General Manager Jim Rutherford made some minor deals to bolster the blue line.  Tanner Pearson, who started out hot with the Penguins before he fizzled out and was relegated to a healthy scratch for a few games, was sent to Vancouver for Defenseman Erik Gudbranson. Rutherford also sent Jean-Sebastian Dea to the Florida Panthers for D-man Chris Wideman. Wideman has played for Ottawa, Edmonton, and Florida….this season. With Kris Letang day-to-day with an upper body injury and Brian Dumoulin out with a concussion, the new Pens will serve as a stop gap measure until they’re once again healthy on defense. The Pens take on the Columbus Blue Jackets tomorrow night on Rocky 96.5!
