For the second time in their four games this season, the Penguins lost a lead to the Flyers with less than :30 left in the third period, eventually losing the game in OT. James van Riemsdyk found the back of the net with 18.8 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime. Although a pretty even OT followed, Sean Couturier scored with just 3.4 ticks left on the clock to give the Flyers the extra point. Philadelphia net-minder, Carter Hart made 41 saves on the night, and even if the Penguins could have pushed it to the shootout, the likelihood of beating Hart seemed dim. The Penguins now have a huge Metropolitan Division match up on Tuesday night when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes for the third time this season. Listen to the action Tuesday on Rocky 96.5!
