After the release of the film Bohemian Rhapsody last fall, the band Queen saw a significant jump in the popularity of their music. Billboard reported that streams for Queen’s music has tripled in the six months since the film’s release! And sales of their albums have risen 483 percent to 1.1 million units. So don’t be surprised if we see even more Classic Rock biopic’s to capitalize on back catalogues. There’s already films based on the music of Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, and the Beatles hitting theaters in the next few months. Of course, this trend may have a breaking point. A Vanilla Ice film is also in the works…….
