Cobain’s Unplugged Guitar Sells

The limited-edition Martin D-18E guitar that Kurt Cobain made famous when he used it during Nirvana’s 1993 appearance on MTV Unplugged has become the most expensive guitar in the world, selling for $6 million at auction. The guitar, used by Cobain less than 5 months before his death, was sold to Rode Microphones founder Peter Freedman and broke 5 records. In addition to being the most expensive guitar, it was also the most expensive Martin guitar, most expensive acoustic guitar, most expensive piece of memorabilia, and most expensive piece of Nirvana memorabilia.
